It’s July 1, which means we’ve made it to halfway through the year. It also means that it’s my turn to host the Blog Carnival of Mental Health for this month, as Pandora did for June. 🙂
The theme will be Stigma and Discrimination. Anyone and everyone is invited to submit a post on this topic, however you interpret it, in association with mental health. You may do so by leaving a comment below with the link or email through the post or link to willfindhope@gmail.com. Please submit your posts by 28 July. The roundup containing all submitted posts will be published here before the end of the month.
Thanks! 🙂
Out of curiosity, is there like a sign-up sheet to host these things?
Yes, you can contact Astrid (astridvanwoerkom.wordpress.com). 🙂

Here is something I wrote:

Been told that I should post this, pretty awesome as I hadn’t even caught up with everything on TWIM yet so didn’t know the subject. Anyway…

Hi lovely, I’m still intending to write something specific for this, but if I don’t get it done would you accept an older post? I wrote one some months back on the ‘Them and Us’ culture of mentalists and the world at large which would probably fit the theme.
An older post is fine 🙂
OK, I’ll submit this then:

Might do another one if I get the chance, though 🙂

Interesting BtF, that you’ve posted on such a very related subject to my own (i just hadn’t alerted you so far- great the deadline’s been extended!). there will be a bit more editing to balance it against your post and to reduce the wordcount (hopefully..)!

err. mental alert, would help to include a link, non? http://theurbanworrier.wordpress.com/2011/07/28/mental-vs-physical-ill-health-if-the-whitecoats-discriminate-then-what-hope-from-society/
and another one, on everyday discrimination: http://theurbanworrier.wordpress.com/2011/07/29/everyday-stigma-discrimination/
WFH, I’m pretty sure that this won’t make it into the stuff worthy of inclusion here, but I’ve written a bit that the authors here may (or may not!) consider worthwhile. I’ll link to it if and when appropriate, but for now I hope things work 🙂 x
