Today at my brother’s high school, which is the high school I went to, they had fundraising for the national depression initiative Beyond Blue (www.beyondblue.org.au).
Each house (students will belong to one of four houses) has a day where they fundraise for a particular charity.
The blue house fundraises for Beyond Blue. Which is great that they’re raising funds for depression help and awareness.
But when I ask my brother what depression is, he doesn’t know how to answer and he doesn’t seem to know what depression is still. Even after the had ‘Beyond Blue Day.’
Which is interesting because even though they did raise the money for it, shouldn’t they try to teach students what it is and raise awareness about it too?
